“The Tales of the Late Ivan Petrovich Belkin” is a cycle of five novellas by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, written in 1830. The work is a collection that includes five independent stories: “The Shot,” “The Snowstorm,” “The Undertaker,” “The Station Master,” and “Mistress Young Peasant.” Pushkin used a literary device, presenting the novellas as works by a fictional author—Ivan Petrovich Belkin. This is one of the poet’s first prose works and has become a classic of Russian literature.
