The author is Alla Barkan, a professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Master of Philosophy, and practicing psychologist who has worked with emigrants for many years. She is the author of over forty books. She was born and raised in the USSR, emigrated to Vienna, Austria, and now resides in Switzerland.
