Swankey and Shwambrania

An autobiographical novel by Lev Kassil about the childhood of two brothers who invented the imaginary country of Shwambrania. The action takes place in pre-revolutionary Russia and in the first years following the revolution. The book recounts their maturation, fantasies, and the clash between the children's world and reality against the backdrop of historical events.
