
“The Tale of the Golden Cockerel” is Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin’s last fairy tale, written in 1834 and published in 1835. The work tells the story of Tsar Dadon, who receives a golden cockerel from a sage—the cockerel warns him of danger. When the Tsar breaks his promise to the sage, it leads to tragic consequences. This edition features illustrations by the famous artist Ivan Bilibin, known for his Art Nouveau works incorporating elements of Russian folk art.
