Anna Karenina

“Anna Karenina” is a novel by Leo Tolstoy about the tragic love between the married lady Anna Karenina and the young officer Vronsky, set against the backdrop of the happy family life of the nobles Konstantin Levin and Kitty Shcherbatskaya. The novel reflects the morals and daily life of the aristocratic circles in St. Petersburg and Moscow during the second half of the 19th century. This work, which Tolstoy himself called his first true novel, is considered one of the greatest achievements of world literature.
