“Moscow Stations” is a cult prose poem by Venedikt Erofeev, written between 1969 and 1970. The work recounts the journey of Venichka, an alcoholic, traveling from Moscow to Petushki on an electric train. During the trip, the protagonist reflects on life, love, alcohol, and Soviet reality, mixing reality and hallucinations. The poem became a symbol of the Soviet underground and is considered one of the most important works of 20th-century Russian literature.
