1984

The action takes place in the fictional state of Oceania, ruled by a totalitarian regime led by the Party, headed by Big Brother. Citizens are under constant surveillance and control, deprived of the right to personal freedom and individual thought. The protagonist, Winston Smith, works at the Ministry of Truth, where he is involved in altering historical facts to suit the current needs of the Party. Gradually, he begins to question the veracity of the information and considers the possibility of resisting the regime. The novel explores themes of control, manipulation of consciousness, and suppression of individuality.
