The Inhabited Island is a science fiction novel by the Strugatsky brothers, the first part of the Maxim Kammerer trilogy. The novel tells the story of Maxim, a young Earthling who crash-lands on a distant planet during a space expedition. He finds himself in a totalitarian state where the ruling elite controls the population using special emitters.
